2.15 The plains in the interior, which come next in order, are hollows, and are surrounded everywhere on the remaining sidesi.e., except the eastern side, on the Euboean Sea. by mountains; by the mountains of Attica on the south, and on the north by the mountains of Phocis; and, on the west, Cithaeron inclines, obliquely, a little above the Crisaean Sea; it begins contiguous with the mountains of Megara and Attica, and then bends into the plains, terminating in the neighborhood of Thebes.
